Animation Lesson : gives directions on how to do basic animations. Three samples are shown also. tec
Billards : given a rectangular pool table, drag points for the cue or the ball to see the change in the direction the ball will travel. Nice model of geometry in real life.
Bubble : demonstrates what a page would look like as a bubble forms beneath it, or as the page breathes in and out. Fun visual.
Centroid Crystal : given a triangle split into 3 parts by the centroid. The 3 parts are shaded based on the distance from a moveable circle. Move the circle to see the change in colors, or animate the circle. Click to change the number of interations of the centroid, making the triangle appear more like a diamond or ice.
Cosmos : demonstration of the movements of planets about the sun. Drag planets individually, or animate all at once. Nice example of math in real life.
FaceMorph : takes given pieces and makes them morph into a happy or sad face. keypress
Glide Reflect Tiling : given a tiling, drag parts of the original or re-color to see changes in the other tilings.
Half Head : given a person's face, highlight everything and reflect about a line. Then move parts of the face, or the reflection line to see the changes.
Headlights : use of parabolas in the design of car headlights. Click to shoot the light and see the path. When move the light source you can tell that it must be at the focus for the beams to project correctly. Nice application.
Lifes Highway : shows what the road would need to be like to drive a car with square wheels.
Perspective Drawing : gives the picture of a cabin in 3-D. Change things and try to build your own!
Sample Animations : sample sketches from students using Harry Potter, Spyderman, Mr. PotatoHead and other things the students will enjoy and want to make. This is a large file, so wait for the download. kcptech
Sheep Dog : you control the sheep dog and you must corral 4 sheep into a pen. Drag the dog yourself, or use the animate button. Kids LOVE this sketch. It is a great motivator for the use of animation.
